"A Woman of Valor"

My Mother, Mrs. Jacqueline Nelson-Hargrove was an EXTRAORDINARY woman.  Whether nurturing her own children, providing food services to troubled youth, or caring for the elderly, you were sure to feel loved by her.

​

For several years, my Mother, Jackie, as she was affectionately called, battled cancer. She would win several rounds! However, in 2021 the cancer would aggressively return. Her inner warrior spirit prevented her from being apart from family, and even in her final moments, she imparted a profound lesson in courage by choosing to return home and live out her remaining days without medication. She made a peaceful transition on February 2, 2021.

Jackie's Arms, founded in 2023, is a dedication to the continuation of her legacy of love and courage by providing determined young women with essentials and/or a safe place to call home, while pursuing their dreams. It represents her belief in family, and the great achievements women can attain when provided with a solid foundation.
